Saudi Arabia has invested visibly in the experience economy: seasons, stadiums, heritage sites, festivals, leagues and the regions being opened to visitors for the first time. The venues exist. What determines their return is whether people find them and turn up.
Tourism. In 2025 the Kingdom recorded more than 93 million domestic tourists and more than 29 million inbound visitors. The sector reached about 5% of GDP against a 10% target for 2030, and over a million people now work in it, with 47% of those roles held by women.
Sport and physical activity. A separate national objective, pursued under the Quality of Life Program rather than as part of the tourism agenda. Here the Kingdom is already ahead of its own target: 59.1% of adults met weekly physical activity guidance in 2025 against a 55% goal. Participation among women, at 43%, remains well below the 67% recorded among men.
Two agendas, one shared dependency. Seasons need attendance, regions need visitors, and leagues, clubs and academies need people who decide to take part.
TikTok’s role is complementary: it operates at the front of that journey, where a place becomes visible and a plan becomes specific.
